USSD Gateway - An Overview
The Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) gateway interfaces with the MMSC over SS7. It uses MAP to send and receive USSD data from the HLR.
Modes of Operation
The USSD server has three main processes, which enables pull, push, and a combination of pull and push requests. While the pull mode is designed to handle mobile initiated USSD requests, the Push mode handles network initiated USSD requests
A Primer on the Benefits of the USSD Gateway
- Ships with an intuitive GUI to run the gateway
- Easy configuration process
- Constant monitoring components to help you track problems quickly and easily
Technology
The Gateway maintains an internal table, which specifies the command set and its mapping. When a mobile originated USSD message is received, the Gateway will create a session for the Mobile Subscriber and also allows Network Initiated push messages.
